Our Story

WholeWorks was founded in 1997 by Matt Mayberry, Ph.D. For more than 25 years, WholeWorks has worked with a variety of corporations to address their existential threats and/or capitalize on their transformative opportunities through custom simulations and strategic leadership development.

The name WholeWorks embodies several dimensions of how we work with our clients:

Systems perspective. We take a whole systems approach to tackling complex challenges.  This means helping organizations see the interconnections between the parts of the business system to find sources of leverage in improving long-term performance.

Human-centered. While new technologies will play an important role in helping us solve today’s complex challenges, ultimately our progress will depend on leaders, learning how to think and act in new ways.

Head, heart, and hands.  Leadership is not purely an intellectual exercise.  We take a holistic approach to leadership development, creating learning experiences that fully engage the leader, intellectually and emotionally, and through hands-on practice.

Integration. Leverage for improvement often comes at the interface between departments, between disciplines, and between sectors. We help leaders bring together the fragmented elements of a system to improve its overall performance.
